On February 19, 2024 the liberal think tank European Center of Austrian Economics Foundation (ECAEF) awarded the sixteenth Vernon Smith Prize to winners from India, Great Britain and South Africa.
With great pleasure H.S.H. Prince Philipp of Liechtenstein (ECAEF board member) and H.S.H. Prince Michael of Liechtenstein (ECAEF president) awarded the International Vernon Smith Prize to:
- The first place with a prize money of EUR 4'000 each went to Babatunde Onabjao (Great Britain) and Martin van Staden (South Africa) ex aequo
- Vibhu Vikramaditya (India) was awarded the third place with a prize money of EUR 2'000
More than 75 students from around the world have participated in the 16th Vernon Smith Prize essay-competition, which was dedicated to the following question:
«Are we still under the (rule of law) or are we pushed around by the law of rules?»
The ECAEF board members congratulate all winners on their success and thanks all students who submitted an essay. Industrie- und Finanzkontor as sponsor of the International Vernon Smith Prize joins the ECAEF in expressing our sincere thanks as well.
